It was October 11, 2012. Early that night, I heard a kitten crying outside my house. I tried a couple of times to find the source of the sound, but I had no luck before finally going to bed.

During the night, I woke up twice and, still in my pajamas, went outside to look again for what I was sure was a baby kitten. I still could not find her.

The next morning, I was getting ready to leave for work. When I opened the door, there she was: a very small, skinny kitten hiding under my car.

I called to her, and she came right to me, so sweet and tender. She was covered in fleas, and her head looked so big only because the rest of her body was skin and bones.

I decided to name her Yoko. After some anti-flea shampoo, good food, and lots of love, she became a very shy but caring cat.

A year later, I adopted another baby cat to be her sister, but Yoko decided Ginger would be her daughter instead. I am so happy they both found their home.

Blind kittens wearing bow ties

Click to Help James

James and his blind brother, William, were found abandoned on the street when they were just four weeks old. James was born with one blind eye that started to cause him discomfort. Over time, that eye became increasingly painful and irritated. James is the seeing-eye cat for his brother, making his condition even more urgent to treat.
