Neglected Husky Left To Be Euthanized Learns To Speak Up For Himself

A neglected husky has made an incredible transformation after being left for dead at the veterinarian's office.

Poor Ryker was abandoned by his former owner, who wanted nothing but for the dog to be euthanized. Thankfully, fate had other plans for Ryker and he's now living his best life and speaking up for himself!

In an interview with The Dodo, Hillary with Friends of Faye explained that Ryker's owner surrendered him to the vet with a request to euthanize him.

Thankfully, the veterinarian saw the future Ryker could have with proper love, care, and medical attention. He called Hillary to come help and the sweet pup wouldn't stop wagging his tail as soon as she arrived.

"He was skin and bones. It was mind-blowing that he could still have any spirit at all," Hillary explained.

Ryker was welcomed into Hillary's home as a foster and quickly got comfortable. He was weak and unsure, but he slowly gained strength and got comfortable playing with toys. Through it all, he always seemed happy and maintained a smile and positive attitude.

One day, though, he made a huge breakthrough. If you're familiar with huskies, you know they like to talk - a lot. But Ryker was so beaten down and timid that he hadn't said a word the whole time. But that all changed, and it's a day Hillary won't soon forget.

Speaking with The Dodo, she said, "I'll remember it for the rest of my life - the day that he spoke to us for the first time. And then he never stopped."

"It's like he has something to say about everything," she added.

Once Ryker made that breakthrough, it was only a matter of time before he was ready to find a forever family to call his own.

Thankfully, it didn't take long and Hillary placed Ryker into the perfect family for him where he has a fellow husky brother to play with, a big yard to run in, and humans who'll do nothing but love and care for him.
