Senior Horse Abandoned in Ukraine Rescued Just in Time

Our fearless hero Krystina continues to receive calls for help for abandoned animals in war-torn Ukraine. She is already caring for over 250 dogs at her shelter Under the Sun, with your support, but continues to come to the rescue of animals in need.

While Krystina mostly rescues dogs and cats, she has taken in a malnourished goat and recently saved a senior horse named Grad.

The old horse was abandoned by his owners and was at risk of being "sold for meat".

Before the war, Krystina worked and cared for horses and was contacted by a rescue volunteer to see if she could help Grad.

Caring and feeding a horse is expensive, but Krystina was not about to let this sweet horse die. She contacted a stable near her shelter and arranged for Grad to be brought there to live out the rest of his days.

Krystina is covering his care and visits him daily to restore his faith in humans by giving him the love and affection he deserves. In return, he is providing much-needed therapy to Krystina that allows her to relax with each stroke of a brush and gentle nudge of his nose.

Join us in helping Krystina feed and care for all the animals in her care by donating here. Every dollar helps fill the bellies of these innocent animals who are all waiting for a loving home.
