Thousands of animals are still in need of rescuing from the shifting frontlines in Ukraine as relentless bombings continue to destroy homes and claim lives.
Dogs like Lada who lost her family in one of the many attacks on her village.
12 Guards and Krystina from Under the Sun Shelter continue to risk their lives to save the innocent animals left behind. During one of their rescue missions, they discovered a large dog in the middle of the road just miles from an active combat zone.

When they approached her, she wagged her tail and walked right up to them. They discovered that Lada's family was killed and she had nowhere to go, so they found a loving foster to take her in.

Lada has been through a lot but remains a friendly and happy dog who just wants to spend her golden years in a safe and loving home. Her rescuers are hoping to find her a home soon.
They shared a video showing just how well-mannered and sweet Lada is and said, "Lada dreams of a happy story of her own. And together with her, we dream too."
In the meantime, they head back out to the frontlines to save more animals.
