Cuddly Chocolate Pibble, Rocky, is Through Roughing it if You Can Help

Pima Animal Care Center

Say hello to Rocky! Rocky is a very sweet, friendly boy that was found as a stray in 2021. He stayed with his rescuer for quite some time, but ultimately it wasn't meant to be his forever home. He then came to Pima Animal Care Center, where he's been ever since.

Rocky was housebroken in his finder's home with regular potty breaks, but he seems to have had a tough life before his time in their home, and he has the scars to prove it. He really deserves to find a place where he can be spoiled for the rest of his life and where he doesn't have a care in the world.

During his time at the shelter, he's won everyone over with his charming personality and has gained quite the fan club. Here's what a few of his admiring friends have had to say:

Adoptable Shelter Dogs

"Rocky is just the best. I have no idea why this guy hasn't been gobbled up yet. He's super friendly with people and walks like a dream on leash. Walking Rocky was a wonderful break after walking other strong dogs yesterday. He has a great smile and just a happy-go-lucky attitude. Rocky is easy to love."

"Rocky is a fun bundle of joy! He is a little rambunctious (in a fun way!) but also a cuddle bug. He melted my heart on the way back to his kennel because we stopped to sniff outside the gate and he gently rested his forehead against my knees in such a tender, loving gesture.

"I gave him a little hug and kiss, and he was a total dream to bring back to the kennel. When we got back to his kennel, he IMMEDIATELY sat and looked up at me with a huge grin on his face, as if he were saying, "Didn't I do a good job?!" And he really did! Rocky is a wonderful dog with so much potential."

"Rocky was a sheer joy to walk today. I was surprised by how easy he was to leash, non-reactive leaving the kennel area, and effortless walking to the park. He jumped up on a picnic table, sat, gave a paw, and took treats gently. He allowed lots of physical attention, and when we continued our walk, he was loose leash. Rocky will be a superb addition to some lucky person's life."

When meeting other dogs in playgroup, Rocky was social and playful but a bit grumbly at times. He'd like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it's a good fit.

Rescue Pets Rule!

Rocky likely spent his time as a stray unsure of where his next meal was coming from, so he understandably does not want to share his food with other dogs and would like a quiet place to eat by himself in his future home. Rocky is a big baby who loves to give his people friends hugs and is ready to be someone's best buddy. Please ask to meet him.

Rocky is neutered, up to date on vaccines, weighs approximately 58 pounds, and the shelter staff thinks he's about 2.8 years old. He's been at PACC since October 07, 2022, and he is sooooo ready to go home today!

If you are interested in adopting him or know of someone who might be, please email pacc.adopt@pima.gov with any additional questions or for an adoption application. He's in Kennel D055, and his ID# is A790647. In the meantime, check out his adorably bouncy videos below!
