Snoop Dogg Breaks Hearts with Farewell to Loyal Frenchie Juelz
Matthew Russell
For over a decade, Juelz was more than a pet to Snoop Dogg—he was family. The rapper announced on June 11 that his French Bulldog had passed away, leaving behind years of memories, loyal companionship, and a visible presence in the artist’s life both online and off.
The dog, a birthday gift from close friend Wiz Khalifa in 2014, had become a familiar face to fans and a cherished companion in Snoop’s inner circle.
“Rip @juelzbroadus,” Snoop wrote in a heartfelt post, paired with clips of the pup from over the years. One video showed Juelz in the front seat of a car, set to Weldon Irvine’s “Morning Sunrise.” Another montage played over Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” a poignant nod to both the dog’s legacy and their shared connection.
“Thank Wiz for giving him to me 🌹🕊️,” he added in a second post.
A Gift That Became Family
Juelz entered Snoop’s life in 2014, a surprise gift from Khalifa for his 43rd birthday. The Frenchie quickly made himself at home among the Broadus family’s other pets, which include another French Bulldog named Frank, pit bulls Lil Snoop and Mamba, and even Siamese cats Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra. But Juelz, with his own Instagram account and stylish public appearances, soon stood out as a star in his own right.
Over the years, he became a staple in Snoop’s online presence. From photos at home to shots alongside celebrity friends, Juelz had a fanbase of his own. His final post on his Instagram account in June 2021 featured him staring directly at the camera, captioned, “What ya looking @ ?”
As TMZ reports, the account had amassed thousands of followers, capturing the pup’s stylish adventures and calm demeanor.

Fans Share the Grief
The public response to Juelz’s passing was immediate. Snoop’s Instagram tribute received thousands of comments. Many fans shared their own heartbreak and experiences with pet loss.
One comment read, “Losing a dog is worse than losing a person… I said it,” while another said, “10 years for a Frenchie is amazing, I bet he had the dopest life.”
Frenchie owners especially felt the loss. One follower posted, “As a Frenchie mum, my heart is breaking for you,” echoing the sentiment felt by many who followed Juelz’s life online. The bond between dog and owner was clear, and fans rallied in support, offering condolences and sharing memories.

Remembering Frank’s Disappearance
This isn't the first time Snoop’s fans have come together over his dogs. In 2022, Frank—Juelz’s fellow Frenchie—went missing. Snoop launched a social media campaign to help find him, and within days, a couple reunited Frank with his family.
“I want to thank y’all for returning the dog back to us,” he told Men’s Journal, adding, “Frank made his way back home.”
Animal Welfare Advocate at Heart
Snoop’s love for animals extends well beyond his own home. He co-hosted the Puppy Bowl XVIII alongside Martha Stewart, leading Team Fluff in a nationwide campaign to promote dog adoption and shelter awareness. The event showcased his commitment to animal welfare on a national stage, Yahoo Entertainment reports.
A Lasting Legacy
Juelz’s presence in Snoop Dogg’s life wasn’t fleeting. From 2014 to 2025, the little Frenchie was a constant companion—on the road, at home, in photos, and in spirit. Fans watched him grow older and slower, but never less adored.
His passing leaves a void in the Broadus household and the hearts of those who followed his story. But as Snoop continues to share his love for animals and honor Juelz’s memory, the bond between the artist and his dog lives on.
