Ukraine Shelter Dogs Start New Year in New Homes
Andrea Powell
A new year means new homes for several shelter dogs at Under the Sun in Ukraine.
The dogs were found abandoned near the frontlines in need of food and care. Your donations are helping Krystina, who owns Under the Sun shelter, take care of over 200 rescued dogs until they find forever homes.
For ten dogs, it was their turn to leave the war behind and start their new lives with their new families. Krystina and her team safely transported the dogs to their forever homes across Europe.
Meet each dog below and see how happy they are to have finally found a home of their own.
Leila

Leila will never be alone again. She is thrilled to finally meet her new mom in the Czech Republic.
Mummy

She was found on the side of the road with her newborn puppies in need of help. After all her puppies found homes, she was adopted by a loving family in Germany.
Emma

Emma was found alone at a gas station in Ukraine. She found her person and is not letting go.
Bella

Another mama dog who made sure her puppies had loving homes before being adopted herself. She is living her best life in England.

Kamila

Kamila was taken in by soldiers who found her scared and alone near the frontlines. They cared for her until Krystina brought her back to the shelter. She now has a family of her own who will never abandon her.

Sheila

This sweet pup patiently waited for two years for someone to adopt her. Her wait is over! She was delivered to her new home and welcomed with open arms.
Din & Dasha

These young dogs are leaving their painful pasts behind them as they begin their new lives in France.

Maya

Maya is still recovering emotionally from the war zone where she was rescued and is a little shy at first. However, once she warms up, she is the most loyal companion you could ask for. She is ready to give all her love to her family in England.
Bagira

Afraid and alone is how Bagira was found near the frontlines. She is realizing that she is finally safe and thrilled that she found a quiet and loving home in Spain.

Help these brave heroes rescue more dogs from the frontlines and give them the second chance they deserve.
More Help is Needed
Pet food supply in Ukraine is dangerously low once again. Shelters and caretakers are struggling to feed the thousands of animals displaced by the ongoing war.
The only way these innocent animals get food in the hardest hit areas is through your donations, which brave individuals risk their lives to deliver.
After nearly four years of war, Ukraine needs our help more than ever. Donate now!
