Pawportunities Animal Welfare Services

We were founded in 2019 by a 13 year old boy, after he received an award for top 30 in the nation for a science fair project. We began by saving two cats off Craig's List, and in four years have grown to 1,000 animal intakes in a year. We help animals in need of forever homes, by getting them vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm tested, FIV/FeLV tested, heartworm/flea/tick prevention, and spay/neutered before adopting them out to their forever homes. In the four years we've been around, we've hosted low cost vaccination clinics providing over 500 services to animals in need each clinic, trap/neutered/returned well over 1,000 cats, initiated a custom built dog house program to help dogs survive our winters, provide food to pets in need, implemented several programs in our school district, work with girl and Boy Scout troops, and in the last year have taken over animal control for a city of nearly 60,000 residents. We believe that educating is equally as important as saving animals, in order to create long lasting change.
