When emergencies occur, it's critical that we can provide necessary supplies to pets who are in need. Having emergency aid kits on hand allows for immediate assistance when disaster strikes - natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, wildfires or tornados. As well as in situations requiring relocation of animals from abuse, neglect, abandonment or hoarding.  When Emergency Pet Rescue & Care aid kits are in stock it helps groups to be prepared for when a new emergency happens, and provide essential support as quickly as possible.

What you can send:

Lasting Comfort Kit: This kit includes a self-warming pet heating pad, safer than electric alternatives that can overheat and burn an animal. It conserves heat to keep pets warm and provides a soft resting place.

Emergency Rescue Kit: This kit contains a pet carrier that is the perfect size for a cat or puppy, ensuring safe transport. Flea and tick medication, a stainless-steel bowl, and a slip lead will also be delivered to shelters and rescues in need of these resources. Emergency Care Kit: This vital kit sends vet wrap, a bite free collar, antimicrobial wound spray and a pet heating pad. These items are much needed to help ensure pets are kept warm and can get immediate help if injured. The bite free collars help to keep pets from biting their healing injuries, and they protect the people administrating care; keeping them safe when completing their tasks as they provide care to pets that might be afraid and nip at them.

According to the website Shelter Animal Counts approximately 6.5 million cats and dogs entered shelters across America in 2023*. These animals include those abandoned, rescued from natural disasters, puppy mills, injured in the wild or neglectful homes.

Shelter workers and rescue groups need specific resources to ensure the safety, nutrition, and warmth of rescued animals. They also ensure that the pets are treated for injuries, fleas and ticks and that they are transported in a safe manner.

These kits may also aide wildlife or farm animals needing refuge from detrimental situations. Rescuers greatly appreciate the help, and these kits enable them to perform their duties safely and efficiently.

Impactful Stories:

Troy Animal Rescue Project was informed of a suspected hoarding case. The person who asked for assistance reported there were 15 animals on property. Upon arrival at the home, over 20 dogs met up in the driveway. Once the home was entered, it became apparent how bad the situation was. Dogs and cats are living in the walls, insulation, and flooring of the trailer. Dogs were digging dens to have puppies and are living in the woods surrounding the trailer. There are at least 100 dogs on property. The dogs will be transported to get care and thanks to supplies sent they will all be taken care of.

Farm Angels Sanctuary received a call about a lamb (Archie) with a broken front leg with the bone exposed. Some individuals inquired about the injured lamb, the farmer stated that he was going to shoot him to kill him unless they wanted to take him. They took him. They spoke with their vet about the cost of amputation for the leg. The individuals did not have the money for the procedure so contacted the sanctuary for help. We got in contact with the sanctuary’s surgeon immediately due to the severity of his injury. He also had another bandage placed on the leg. Archie had his surgery and healed well. The sanctuary was grateful for the supplies sent.
