The Animal Rescue Site and Greater Good Charities need your support to fly at-risk shelter pets to freedom on this month's Mission: PAWssible Flight. 

Animal shelters in Louisiana and Alabama are overflowing with homeless dogs and cats as new ones arrive weekly. Highly adoptable animals are at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space and adopters. 

That's why we sponsor a flight each month, with your support, to save lives. Help us fly dozens of shelter pets to freedom on May 20. We need your help to complete this life-saving mission. 

The animals on this flight are at-risk pets; without the flight, they might never find their loving homes due to the overcrowding that often happens in shelters. Sending these pets from under-resourced shelters to shelters with empty spaces will give them a second chance at life AND the adoption they deserve.

Meet some of the pet passengers on last month's flight below!

This sweet mama was surrendered along with her four puppies when her owner could no longer afford to care for them. Panda, an Australian shepherd mix, is just two years old and asymptomatic heartworm positive. 

She and all of her puppies will catch a ride on the Save A Heart Flight for a second chance. While her puppies will surely be quickly adopted, Panda will get treatment to beat heartworm disease before finding a loving home.

Meet Sissy!

The six-year-old hound was left to roam free around neighborhood which resulted in her having multiple litters of puppies. The neighbors stepped up to help the dog when her owners left her to fend for herself. 

Sissy was spayed, had a lipoma removed from her chest, and tested positive for heartworm disease. This sweet girl has been through a lot and is ready to get the treatment she needs before finding a new family.

Meet Lou!

Lou is super friendly and sweet; he is so curious and loves to explore outside in the yard. He has been very playful with both people and the other dogs here at the shelter. Even though he is an asymptomatic heartworm positive dog he is living his best life. We are so thankful he can be transported through the Save a Heart initiative and receive the care and treatment he needs before being adopted into a loving home.

In shelters across the country, highly adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized just because the shelters are overcrowded. In other areas, shelters have a shortage of adoptable pets. We're transporting these pets to shelters where they're immediately adopted.
