Update: Kuzia underwent surgery to remove his ruptured eye and is feeling a lot better. The shelter told us, "Kuzia was calm and brave through everything — he never lost trust in people. Now Kuzia is safe and under our care. He’s going through rehabilitation, getting injections, care, and rest."

Kuzia was found as a stray in critical condition on the streets of Ukraine. One of his eyes was swollen shut and bleeding and he was rushed to a hospital for urgent medical care.
Once there, doctors tried to salvage Kuzia's eye, but it was beyond repair and needs to be removed. This sweet cat was also diagnosed with multiple chronic health issues: kidney disease, ulcers, and advanced dental disease.
