Lyutyi was found in critical condition on the side of the road in Ukraine covered in bite wounds. He was in shock from blood loss and an infection when rescuers rushed him to a clinic for emergency care.
Veterinarians confirmed he is suffering from hypovolemic shock, anemia, and critically low blood protein levels in addition to his open wounds.
X-rays revealed a nail is lodged in his stomach and he will need surgery to remove it. He was started on fluids and pain medication while he regains his strength before surgery.
Lyutyi has a long road to recovery and is not out of danger yet.
He will also need special hydrogel dressings applied daily to treat the deep wounds covering his head and body.
He has endured so much pain and deserves a second chance to find a loving, safe home.
