These gentle creatures have been ravaged by man-made and natural disasters and need our help.
In 2023, nearly 600 wild manatees passed away in Florida alone. Most of these deaths occurred due to starvation. Wildlife centers and aquariums that rehabilitate manatees in distress are essential to preserving the threatened population. Unfortunately, when Hurricanes Helene and Milton struck, severe flooding destroyed many of these centers' essential life-support systems, which kept the water safe for these animals.
Zamboni and Yeti, two juvenile manatees, were receiving critical care for malnutrition and extreme weight loss at an aquarium when the hurricanes hit. Manatees need to consume 10-20% of their body weight daily, yet threats like pollution, harmful algal blooms, and declining water quality make survival increasingly challenging. Greater Good Charities is partnering with Clearwater Marine Aquarium to rebuild its facility after the devastating impacts of the storms, and they need your help to protect the animals who depend on it.
You can help Greater Good Charities in their work to help protect threatened species like the manatee. Manatee rehabilitation programs have a 96% success rate, meaning your support can make a powerful impact in rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing manatees back into the wild. Donate now to help rehabilitation centers rebuild and save manatees like Zamboni and Yeti.

I am so very happy to help provide food for manatees that are starving. It is the very least we can do to help their species survive.
