Baby opossums are unable to regulate their own body temperatures. Help give them the warmth they need to grow.
Each spring, wildlife centers and rescues receive a surge of orphaned and injured baby opossums—many no larger than a human thumb. These marsupials require specialized, temperature-controlled environments to survive, as they are unable to regulate their own body heat as babies.
One tiny opossum was brought in barely breathing, with a dangerously infected paw. Thanks to warmth, fluids, and time, the little fighter recovered fully and was released back into the wild, healthy and ready to thrive. To meet this seasonal demand, Greater Good Charities is partnering with wildlife centers to provide heating incubators and warming pads for baby opossums and other newborn wildlife.
This equipment will help to provide continuous care for infants from intake through recovery, increasing survival rates and shortening their healing time. With your support, we can ensure that more of these babies receive the care they need to be returned to the wild healthy and fully rehabilitated.
Greater Good Charities is committed to supporting habitat conservation around the world threatened by extinction through protecting endangered species, protecting the environment, and community education. They work with teams around the world to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife, provide emergency medical care, study key biodiversity hotspots, feed bees on the brink of starvation, and so much more.
Donate today to help protect this vulnerable species and other at-risk wildlife.
