53 dogs and 29 cats from overcrowded shelters in Louisiana and Alabama got a one-way ticket to New Jersey for a second chance to find love, thanks to your support. 

The good boys and girls boarded the Flight to Freedom early in the morning with well wishes from their sending shelters. A couple hours later they landed in New Jersey to begin the next chapter of their lives. 

Tails were wagging and barks and soft meows of excitement could be heard through the cabin. One-by-one they were carried off the plane and welcomed by a smiling face of a staff of volunteer from the receiving shelters. 

They were safely transported back to their new shelters where they will settle in before meeting potential adopters. These dogs and cats have already mastered patience, and their next lesson will be about love, hope, and happiness in a forever home. 

Potato was one of 52 animals taken in by St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, one of the receiving shelters, and has already been adopted over the weekend. Many others have also found homes or will shortly.
