Stressed Senior Dog Seeks Quiet Home After Returning To Shelter Due To Owner's Failing Health
For the past four years, a sweet dog named Mimi has lived in a loving home that she thought was her forever home. Sadly, her owner's health is declining due to dementia and the family is no longer able to care for her.
She has returned to Humane Society of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is stressed by the loud and unfamiliar shelter environment.
The eight-year-old pup has so much love to give and hopes to find her forever home soon.
The shelter posted her story on TikTok in hopes of finding her a new family. They wrote, "Poor Mimi doesn’t understand why she is back at our shelter. After having a loving home for the past 4 years, Mimi sadly was brought back because her owner has dementia. Mimi is good with other dogs and people of all ages, but at the shelter she is so nervous with all the loud noises. Mimi knows basic commands and is potty trained. Can Mimi spend her golden years with you?"

Senior pets make the best companions as they are less energetic, well-mannered, and full of wisdom. Let them show you how to enjoy the little things in life like taking a nap in the sun. Consider adopting a gray-faced pet.
