Sweet Dog Abandoned In NYC Apartment Has Been Waiting At Shelter For Over 200 Days For A Home

A 4-year-old shelter dog named Yas Queen is learning to trust humans again after being left behind by her owner in a NYC apartment when they were evicted.

The sweet dog was taken in by Animal Care Centers of NYC. She has been winning the hearts of staff and volunteers for the past several months. She is the longest-stay dog at the Manhattan shelter and has been waiting to find a home for over 210 days.

While she can take a little time to warm up to people, she is a complete sweetheart and just wants to find someone to love. The adorable pup has already mastered basic commands and is ready to show them to her new human.

She is a staff and volunteer favorite who all rave about what a great dog she is and cannot believe she hasn't been adopted.

One staff member shared, "Yas Queen is a beautiful brown girl with perky ears that tilt with her head when I speak to her. She has made strides in gaining confidence in the shelter with us and it has been a pleasure to see her blossom into a friendly and playful girl. She enjoys playing with toys and pets. She can still be a tad bit anxious in the shelter environment. She would do best in a calmer household that allows her to gain more confidence."

Volunteers love how affectionate she is when she rolls over for belly rubs and is the best cuddle buddy. When she's not snuggled up with a human, she enjoys stretching her legs by chasing a ball and interacting with other dogs.
