Atlanta Firefighters Save Terrified Kitten From Busy Highway
Firefighters are real-life heroes who wear bunker gear not capes. They are always on call to help people and animals in need, even in dangerous situations.
Highway I-285 in Atlanta is one of the deadliest highways in the country and one most people try to avoid. A tiny white kitten found herself on the highway and by some miracle managed to make it to the cement median.
There the little feline cowered in fear as vehicles zoomed by. She was spotted by Dekalb County Fire Rescue Department who were responding to a call.
The firefighters circled back after completing the call and were relieved to see the kitten was still there. They pulled their truck over and rescued her.
No one knows how the kitten ended up on the highway, but she was saved thanks to the kindhearted firefighters. But her story doesn't end there.
She was named Roadie according to local news, 11 Alive, and adopted by the mom of one of the firefighters.
A video of the rescue was shared on TikTok by one of the firefighters (@dinoatl). It was captioned, "Yes, we do save cats".
One viewer commented, "she looked back like she was waiting for you". Several others commended the firefighters for saving the kitten.
