Ukraine Cat with Crushed Front Legs Needs Your Support to Walk Again
Andrea Powell
Sick and injured animals continue to arrive at shelters in need of emergency care, but most shelters are overcrowded and underfunded. They need our help to save lives.
With your support, we are conducting our 3rd Annual Paws in Peril Care-A-Thon. The week-long campaign will help severely neglected, injured, and sick animals get the emergency care they need to survive and thrive.
Cats like Tygryk.

The three-year-old cat was surviving on the war-torn streets of Ukraine thanks to a woman who fed the community cats in her area.
When Tygryk arrived badly injured, the woman reached out to local rescue, Home of Rescued Animals, for help. Both of his front legs were crushed, and he was in a lot of pain.

He was rushed to a veterinarian who could perform the proper tests to see the extent of the damage to his legs. After undergoing multiple X-rays and CT scans, the only option was to amputate both legs.
His legs were not only irreparable, but they were also severely infected. The rescue told us, "The only way to save his life was a complex surgery to amputate both front limbs. The surgery was extremely complicated, as it required deep amputation of both front legs at once."

His vet bills are adding up, and he still has a long road ahead. Will you help him get the care he needs to walk again?
Despite all the pain and suffering Tygryk has endured, he remains a sweet and loving cat. His prognosis is good, and he will soon learn how to walk balancing on his hind legs.
In the meantime, he is on pain medication, antibiotics, receiving intensive wound care, and under constant supervision. Donate today to give him the second chance he deserves.
