Comedy Wildlife Photography Finalists For 2023 Revealed
Wild animals are fascinating, adorable, and do the funniest things. Thankfully, there are wildlife photographers and videographers who capture these rare moments and share them with the world.
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, based in the UK, holds an annual competition to find the "funniest wildlife photo on the plant". The competition started in 2015 and the goal has remained the same, it "celebrates the hilarity of our natural world and highlights what we need to do to protect it".
Thousands of novice and professional photographers have submitted their pieces and owners, Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam (who are also photographers), had the daunting task of narrowing it down to 41 finalists.
They revealed the finalists on their website and the popular People's Choice Award voting is live. People are asked to pick their favorite photo, a difficult task in itself. Laughter is guaranteed and one lucky person will win £500 CASH, courtesy of Affinity Photo, a photo editing software.
This year's winners in all categories will be announced at the awards night on November 23rd. The categories are:
- The Alex Walker's Serian Creatures of the Land Category
- The Spectrum Creatures in the Air Category
- The ThinkTank Photo Junior Category
- The Amazing Internet Portfolio Category
- The Underwater Category
- The Video Clip Category
Paul and Tom continue to share their love of photography, Africa, wildlife, and conservation with the world. In 2024, they plan to expand by offering Comedy Wildlife Guided African Safari tours. Learn more here.
For all those aspiring and professional photographers who missed this year's submission, don't worry, you can apply next year starting in March.
Laughter is the best medicine, and The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards finalists are providing laugh-out-loud photos. Be sure to share this with your friends and family, and don't forget to vote!
