Critically Injured Ukraine Dog Defies Odds and Finds Loving Home
Andrea Powell
Tilly was found in critical condition with a severe head injury near the frontlines in Ukraine. Her chance of survival was low, and she needed emergency and intensive care for a fighting chance.
Lala, owner of 12 Guards, remembers first seeing this dog being brought to her in the arms of a crying volunteer who found her near death. She was barely breathing and bleeding profusely.

She was still fighting and so they were going to fight for her as well. They rushed her to a clinic where a vet was able to stop the bleeding and get her stable. Later, she performed multiple surgeries, including skull reconstruction.
Tilly fought her way back to life. After months of rehab, she regained her strength and was ready to find a family of her own.

The only reminder of her painful past in the scar on her head that also tells the story of her fighting spirit.

She went from an uncertain future to one full of possibilities and love. Her story has a happy ending in Germany where she gets to explore, play, and cuddle with her new family.
