Mothers do all they can to care for their babies, even when they are injured or unwell.

Meet Charm, an amazing mama dog who continued to push through pain and hunger to care for her puppies.

The emaciated mama dog and her two malnourished puppies were spotted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who reported them to Alberta SPCA.

Rescuers arrived to find Mama limping with her skinny puppies attempting to nurse. They immediately rushed them to a local animal hospital for care.

Despite all the pain and suffering, the young mama remained sweet and friendly and that is why rescuers named her Charm.

X-rays revealed she was suffering from a broken femur and the only option was amputation.

She needs your support to get the medical care she needs to heal and continue to care for her puppies. She will need months of rehabilitation to regain her strength, health, and learn to walk on three legs.

Click to Help James

James and his blind brother, William, were found abandoned on the street when they were just four weeks old. James was born with one blind eye that started to cause him discomfort. Over time, that eye became increasingly painful and irritated. James is the seeing-eye cat for his brother, making his condition even more urgent to treat.
