Meet Effie.

This one-year-old pup was found unable to move on the side of the road in Romania. A kind person spotted the dog and reached out to SACHE Foundation for help.

The poor dog was in excruciating pain when she arrived at the animal hospital. X-rays revealed that two of her legs are badly fractured and she has an injury to her bladder.

"Despite the overwhelming odds stacked against her, Effie’s spirit remained unbroken. Her eyes, filled with a mix of pain and hope, conveyed her will to survive and her trust in the humans around her," shared the rescue.

Effie has a long road to recovery and will need multiple surgeries to heal her shattered legs and damaged bladder. She has been started on pain medication as she waits to have surgery.

Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical fund is assisting with her medical bills but needs your continued support. The fund helps save the lives of dogs like Effie and give them a second chance to find a loving home.

Pets receiving critical care facilitated by an Emergency Animal Medical grant may not be eligible for adoption until they have completed their course of treatment. If you would like to inquire about adoption of a specific animal, we strongly encourage you to visit the shelter’s specific website first as that is often the most up to date place to learn about available pets and review the adoption policies and process.

Join us in helping Effie walk again by donating towards her care.

Help us meet our goal of $7,200 for Effie and pets like her. Your gift will not only give her the hope to keep fighting, but your donations will help cover her ongoing care.
