Homeless Dog Hit By Car And Left To Suffer On Street Needs Your Help To Heal

Young dogs love nothing more than to run and play. Sadly, a homeless 2-year-old dog in Bulgaria is unable to run, play, or walk without pain after being hit by a car.

He was left on the streets to suffer until Love for Love Dog Shelter and Association took him in. He was named Brisko and rushed to the vet when they noticed he was unable to put weight on his front right leg.

"We took him to emergency care where it was discovered that he has a right front leg fracture of radius and ulna. Furthermore, it was discovered that Brisko is suffering from freight nerves due to the trauma," the shelter shared with us.

The friendly pup needs two operations: the first to stabilize his leg, place implants and suture the affected nerves, the second to remove the implants after he's fully healed. These operations will give him the best chance at a full recovery.

Brisko has received the first surgery and is waiting to have the second. The shelter reached out to Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical Care fund to help cover the accumulating vet bills.

Shelters spend most of their minimal budgets on food and essentials, which leaves little or nothing for medical care. The Emergency Animal Medical Care fund provides grants to animal shelters and rescues to cover the cost of emergency surgeries and ongoing treatments for shelter pets. These grants save the lives of homeless pets like Brisko.

The sweet fella continues to push through the pain and always has a smile on his face. He is described as "full of energy with a thirst for life," and gets along with other dogs. He yearns to run and play again but needs your help.

Help us meet our goal of $1,500 to care for Brisko. Your support will not only give Brisko the hope to keep fighting, but your donations will help cover the surgeries and ongoing care he will need.
