Kitten Struck By Car Needs Your Help To Get Emergency Surgery To Walk Again
Meet Francine.
She has had a rough start to life. The six-month-old tabby kitten was found severely injured on the side of the road in California after being hit by a car.
Francine was rushed to a local veterinary clinic who discovered she has a fractured pelvis and tail and needs emergency surgery. They reached out to a cat rescue they worked with in the past called The Rescue House to see if they were able to help this little feline.
The no-kill cat rescue agreed to give Francine a second chance. The sweet kitten will need surgery to repair her fractured pelvis and months of rehabilitation but is expected to make a full recovery. Sadly, her tail has become necrotic and will need to be amputated.
It will be a long and expensive road to recovery, so the rescue contacted Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical fund for help. The fund provides grants to animal shelters and rescues to cover medical expenses and give animals like Francine a chance to find a loving home.
Pets receiving critical care facilitated by an Emergency Animal Medical grant may not be eligible for adoption until they have completed their course of treatment. If you would like to inquire about adoption of a specific animal, we strongly encourage you to visit the shelter’s specific website first as that is often the most up to date place to learn about available pets and review the adoption policies and process. Check out the shelter’s website to see all adoptable pets.
The Rescue House is a volunteer-based rescue who takes in abused, homeless, and unwanted cats and finds them loving homes. They have saved over 18,000 cats since they began in 1999. Their work is far from over and they will continue to help the felines in California with the help of their volunteers, fosters, and supporters.
Francine has her whole life ahead of her and just needs our help to heal. Help us raise $6,000 to cover her medical expenses. Your gift will not only give her the hope to keep fighting, but your donations will help cover her ongoing care.
