Ilona and Tyson were found in a poverty-stricken area in Romania suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Stray dog Ilona was discovered by local children with a severely infected wound on her neck from an embedded cord. TAC.social, a local animal rescue group, stepped up to help the poor dog living near the dump.

They told us, "From a distance, we could already see a cord embedded deeply into her neck, and the unmistakable smell of necrotic tissue signaled severe infection. Unfortunately, Ilona was too fearful to let us approach. Given her distress and deteriorating condition, we made the decision to safely tranquilize her and transport her to the clinic for urgent medical care."

The cord had been there for some time and the wound was all the way down to the bone. She was in a lot of pain and to make it worse there was "a hardened mass, formed from accumulated body fluids, dirt, and matted hair, had built up and was hanging from the string, adding to her suffering."

The medical team carefully removed the cord and cleaned the wound. However, she has a long road to recovery ahead and needs your support

Tyson was also taken in by the rescue after he was struck by a car and found limping and bleeding. His rescuers recall, "Upon arrival, we found Tyson curled up in a corner of his yard, holding up his injured front leg and showing clear signs of shock and distress."

He was rushed back to the clinic where he was started on pain medication and X-rays were performed on the injured leg.

Tyson is suffering from open wounds and significant soft tissue trauma. Will you help him get the care he needs to heal?

Both dogs need your support to survive and thrive. They will need weeks of medical care to heal.
