Countless dogs in Ukraine were abandoned when their families fled or were killed in war zones. Thankfully, there are heroes like Krystina with Under the Sun Shelter who rescues these poor dogs.

During a rescue mission near the frontlines, Krystina and her team noticed something moving in a destroyed home. They crawled through the rubble and discovered a dog who was tied up and unable to escape.

Check out the rescue video below.

The poor dog is severely malnourished with every bone in his body showing and suffering from a painful skin disease called demodectic mange. Most of his fur is missing and his skin is very inflamed.

He has been without food and water for a while, and it is a miracle he survived. Chuckie is very sick and will need months of intensive care.

Despite all the pain and suffering, he wags his tail which brings his rescuers hope that he will pull through.

Click to Help James

James and his blind brother, William, were found abandoned on the street when they were just four weeks old. James was born with one blind eye that started to cause him discomfort. Over time, that eye became increasingly painful and irritated. James is the seeing-eye cat for his brother, making his condition even more urgent to treat.
