Help Save Nearly 90 At-Risk Cats and Dogs at Overcrowded California Shelters Following Wildfires
Andrea Powell
Animal shelters in L.A. and Orange County were already over capacity when wildfires ravaged their communities earlier this year.
You helped fly shelter pets out of the area immediately after the fires to make room for displaced pets, but sadly several of the displaced pet have been surrendered to shelters due to survivors struggling to find housing following the devastating fires.

California shelters are overcrowded and overwhelmed. Intakes continues to arrive, including sick or orphaned kittens as it is officially "kitten season". They need immediate help to find homes for shelter animals, who otherwise could be at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space and resources.

With your support, The Animal Rescue Site and Greater Good Charities are conducting an emergency flight on June 25 to save nearly 90 cats and dogs and fly them to freedom in the Pacific Northwest.

Donate today to help fly shelter cats and dogs to freedom. Just $10 helps fly an animal 250 miles towards safety.

Cheri

The pit bull puppy was found with a swollen eye as a stray a few months ago. She has been a sweetheart since she arrived, even with foxtails in her eye. Her eye is healing and ready to give her heart to someone special. Help fly her to freedom!
Star Destroyer & Fluffernutter

These adorable eight-week-old kittens are stealing hearts with their charm and crazy antics. They are ready to find forever homes. Their caretakers at a California shelter shared, "Star Destroyer (female) lives up to her name with bold energy and fearless play. She’s the first to explore, the first to pounce, and the first to climb as high as she can go. Despite her dramatic name, she’s a total sweetheart who crashes into naps just as fast as she launches into play mode."

They went on to say, "Fluffernutter (male) is her soft and snuggly sidekick—sweet, silly, and always ready to curl up for cuddles after a good romp. He’s a little floofy ball of love who follows his people around like a shadow and purrs like a tiny motorboat."
Fendi

This sweet dog was found as a stray and has been waiting for months for a home. She has a heart as big as her ears and she is ready to find her person. She is described as affectionate, resilient, brave, and loves people.
While she has won the heart of staff, they shared, "In an overcrowded shelter, it’s easy for even the sweetest dogs to be overlooked." Help fly her to freedom!
