Florida's Gulf Coast was hit by two powerful hurricanes in two weeks, causing catastrophic damage and extensive flooding.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) in Tampa, Florida, immediately sent out their search and rescue team to help animals stranded in flooded homes.

The team headed out in SHERP ATV 4x4 units, designed to tackle the toughest situations and can float in water, to rescue pets. The rescuers waded through waist-deep water carrying pets back to the all-terrain vehicle.

One of the rescued dogs was so grateful and it showed. The team shared the heartwarming photo and story with their followers. "Check out this beautiful moment of pure gratitude and love! This dog’s eyes say it all as he looks at Cpt. Dusty Mascaro from our HCFR TSAR team after being brought to safety."
