Only Shelter Dog Not Adopted At Florida Event Finally Finds Her Person
A sweet 4-year-old pit bull mix named Patricia was the only dog not adopted at shelter event in Tampa Bay, but then fate stepped in.
15 shelter dogs were taken from Humane Society of Tampa Bay to a local park for their Bark in the Park adoption event. The event was a huge success with 14 of the 15 dogs adopted. The shelter raised funds to care for all the homeless animals and thanked everyone who participated. However, for Patricia it was a sad day as she watched all her friends find loving homes as she returned to the shelter alone.
While Patricia may not have realized it then, but it was "meant to be" for her to return to the shelter. Just two days later, she met a kind man who instantly fell in love with her and brought her home.
The shelter shared the exciting news on Facebook and wrote, "Joshua and his wife recently lost their pet and felt the loss when they saw Patricia on the website and wanted to meet her. Joshua came in and fell in love with her kindness and sweet face and knew she would be perfect for their family! Patricia is a shining example of how even, in the rarest of circumstances even though you're last you can still come in first. After all, that is where the heart shines best."
Patricia has finally found her people and she couldn't be happier.
"We've had her home almost a week now, she's really enjoying life at home," posted her new mom, Heather, in the comments. "Another pupdate, this is the only way she lays down. Always a perfect sploot."
Dozens of people commented how happy they were that the loving pup had found a loving home. While Patricia's story may not have had a happy beginning, she has found her happily ever after.
