From War Zone to Loving Home: Chupa's Story of Survival
Andrea Powell
Chupa was rescued from a destroyed village by Krystina, founder of Under the Sun Shelter, during one of her countless rescue missions at the frontlines. The terrified dog was unsure about humans and needed time to heal emotionally as well as physically.
For who knows how long she roamed the war-torn streets trying to survive. The war had taken a toll on her and she needed time and space to adjust.

Krystina brought her back to her shelter and proceeded to feed and care for her while slowly earning her trust each day. Her matted and dirty fur was removed, and she began her long journey to recovery.

Chupa spent two years at the shelter where she learned to live among other dogs and alongside humans. Krystina knew Chupa needed a special home with a patient family. Her goal is to find every dog she rescues a loving home, even though some are harder to place than others.

After patiently waiting a couple years, Chupa finally found a family of her own. Her tail wags now with excitement as she zooms around her backyard far away from the war.
She will never go hungry or be abandoned again. She has left her fear behind and is embracing her new life that is filled with love.

Her days are now spent soaking up the sun, playing with toys, and taking afternoon naps. She is living her best life thanks to your support that helps feed and care for rescued dogs in Ukraine until they find forever homes.

Every dog deserves a loving home.
