Shelter Animals Are Safe, Fed, and Well Cared For Thanks To Your Generous Donations

2022 was a tough year for animal shelters, but your generous donations helped them feed and care for homeless dogs and cats.

Animal shelters experienced an increase in intakes and a decrease in adopters putting a strain on their already minimal budgets. You helped their dollar go farther and save even more pets.

The year ended on a high note. GreaterGood set a $4 million fundraising goal for 2022 and with your donations we not only met it but surpassed it! We want to thank you for your support all year, but especially during our Greater Giving campaign in December.

Thanks to your generosity, through the holidays we were able to provide an additional 3,078,920 bowls of food through our Holiday Food Drive for Shelter Pets in Need and 13,034 care packages filled with essential items for both cats and dogs. While the holidays may be over, the need is still great. Please consider giving an additional donation to support shelter pets in need.

Dogs like Earl who arrive at shelters underweight and malnourished need nutritious food. You provided that by clicking daily on the "Click to Give" button at The Animal Rescue Site, shopping at our store, playing Games That Give and Trivia to Give, and donating.

Earl was dumped in the street down the road from a shelter and arrived 15 pounds underweight. The shelter was able to properly feed and care for him thanks to the food donation they received from GreaterGood. Earl is now in a loving home and living his best life.

Your actions also helped cats like Cookie who needed emergency medical care. The feral cat arrived with a broken leg and feline herpes virus. The animal rescue was able to afford her treatment thanks to the money they saved with the donated pet food and supplies. Cookie found her person and couldn't be happier.

Your generous donations throughout 2022 also helped feed and care for shelter pets near and far in the following ways:

  • 2.2 million meals have been funded to save Ukrainian pets and shelter animals from starvation.
  • 948 at-risk shelter dogs and cats boarded Flights to Freedom to find forever homes.
  • $442,218 to Clear The Shelters 2022 - helping 369 animal rescue organizations and animal shelters in the U.S. and U.S. territories.
  • $502,733 to animal shelters to provide meals, blankets, formula, vaccinations, pet supplies and more.

We hope you will join us again this year in giving back to shelter pets in need. Animal shelters work hard to ensure each pet receives the food and care they need, but they can't do it alone. Help us reach our $5M fundraising goal for 2023 by donating to help care, feed, and fly shelter pets to forever homes.

Together we CAN change the world!
