Top Gun: Maverick' Star Glen Powell Adopts Tiny Puppy As "Bodyguard"
Puppies are irresistible with their adorable faces and wild antics. It is easy to fall in love with them and one little fella just stole the heart of Top Gun: Maverick actor Glen Powell.
The tiny puppy named Brisket was adopted by Powell from the Labelle Foundation, a Los Angeles foster based animal rescue. The 34-year-old actor took to Instagram to introduce the adorable pup to his friends and fans.
He wrote, "It’s a ruff world out there, so I thought it was about time I hire a proper bodyguard...Meet BRISKET - 1.5 pounds of raw power."
The two are already inseparable. Powell posted photos of Brisket cuddled in his arms, playing with toys, and napping on his sneakers. There is even a short clip of Powell playing with his new bestie. (Be still my beating heart...)
Brisket, originally named Ambrosia by the rescue, is a 10-week-old terrier mix that was surrendered as part of an accidental litter. He is described as, "the perfect balance of cuddly and playful." The rescue went on to say, "The only thing he loves more than his toys and his naps is hearing you gush over him about how he’s such a good boy. But beware, he’s a real head-turner so be prepared for a lot of staring, pointing, and awing."
Powell is now a dad and made sure to thank the rescue that made it all possible. He wrote, "Thank you to @thelabellefoundation for all the incredible work you do to advocate for dogs and for making me a dad. I can’t wait to tackle all the adventures of life with this guy!"
Friends and family took to the comments to welcome Brisket and congratulate Powell on adopting.
Brad Goreski, a Canadian-American celebrity fashion stylist, said, "Thank you for adopting Glenn! You just got even more hot".
His younger sister @lesliepowellmusic wrote, "The best duo in the worlddddd. Brisket is theeeee cutesssst!!!!!"
While his older sister @laurenpowellwhatton stated, "Welcome to the family, Brisket! We are wild ones!"
The Labelle Foundation responded in the comments as well with, "Yay!! So happy you are happy! Hi Brisket".
Adopting saves lives. Animal rescues and shelters are in desperate need of loving homes, so please adopt or foster.
