Your donations are providing essentials to rescued kittens and cats who are adjusting to shelter life.

Dolly's Cat Sanctuary and Rescue recently took in three feral kittens from a local shelter who were not enjoying their confined space.

They shared that they have come across other kittens like this that are transitioning from life on the streets to life in a home. The ones that are more resistant at first are labeled "hiss and spits", for obvious reasons.

Rescuers do their best to acclimate the kittens to an indoor space and show them just how great life can be. Their job is much easier when they have supplies like scratching posts and toys to interact with the kittens.

The rescue shared how well the three kittens, especially Dawn, took to a donated cactus scratching post that is allowing them to use some of their excess energy and frustration.

"Dawn, one of the girls, is especially energetic and though we have to keep them in a crate most of the time until they are vetted, we do get to let them out to play... and oh how they love to play!"

Rescues and shelters spend their funds on food and care which leaves little or nothing for extras like treats, toys, and supplies. That is where your donations make a huge difference.

The kittens and staff are grateful for your support and said, "These items are amazingly helpful to help get playful kitten energy out. They also help us to interact and socialize with these cute little 'hiss & spits'."

It is kitten season, which means shelters nationwide are seeing an influx of kittens and need help. Donate today to help provide food and essentials to rescued cats.
