Surrendered Overweight Cat Sheds Pounds Thanks to Donated Food

He was surrendered to Shannon Farmz Animal Rescue by his family because he was marking all over the house. Prior to being surrendered, he was examined by a vet and aside from being overweight was a healthy cat.
The rescue started him on a strict diet of nutritious cat food and encouraged him to exercise more by introducing him to other animal residents.
Rox hasn't marked since being at the rescue. Staff discovered that his former owners were getting a divorce and believe the stress is what caused him to act out.
"We believe that Rox was just as upset as his owners about the situation and was acting out by marking. Animals are just a sensitive as humans if not more so in most situations," the rescue shared.
The friendly feline quickly won the hearts of staff and cat-friendly dogs. Thanks to your generous donations of nutritious cat food, Rox is thriving on his weight-loss journey.
Obesity is a serious health concern in pets and can lead to other serious medical conditions. In addition to a healthy weight, the rescue states that pets also need a "healthy mental environment".
