Senior Rescue Dog Devours Donated Soft Food "Like A Puppy"

Senior dogs are often overlooked at shelters and spend more time waiting for a forever home. The loud noises, hard food, and small kennels take a toll on the aging dogs.

That is why with your support, we are sending care packs to senior shelter dogs filled with supplements, soft treats and food, and much more to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

One of the recent beneficiaries is a senior gentle giant named Scout. This big boy is a volunteer favorite at Horse and Hound Rescue Foundation for his sweet and loving demeanor.

He will follow you around, pose for pictures (even wearing funny hats), and is the most loyal companion. His caretakers shared, "Scout and all our rescue dogs enjoy nutritious meals and tasty extras that brighten their day. Scout’s personal favorite? The soft, savory Merrick Lil’ Plates! He dives into those like a puppy every time, and it’s a joy to watch. These donations do more than fill food bowls - It allows dogs like Scout to live out their golden years with comfort, dignity, and a little extra joy in every meal."

Your donations are making a huge difference in the lives of senior animals. The rescue is beyond grateful and said, "From Scout and all of us at the rescue, thank you for making moments like these possible. Thank you!"

Scout has found a forever home at the animal sanctuary where he lives with dozens of other rescued senior dogs, and other farm animals.

Senior dogs are the best and deserve to spend their golden years in a loving home. Please consider adopting a gray-muzzled animal who has already mastered their manners and has so much love to give.

Join us in helping more senior shelter dogs by donating here.
