Jealous Dog Breeds Who Demand Your Undivided Attention
Andrea Powell
While most dogs can become jealous when their beloved owner is giving attention to another dog, there are some breeds who take jealousy to a whole other level.
If you have one, you know what I'm talking about. They not only crave your love but also all your attention. If they don't get it, they will pout or act out.
Here are some jealous dog breeds who are not afraid to show it.
Border Collie

These intelligent dogs need physical and mental stimulations which results in them being the first one to help with tasks and always at your side ready for the next adventure. They just want to be included in EVERYTHING you do. They will wedge themselves in between you and another dog, person, or even your phone to make sure they are part of the action.
If they think you are distracted, they will nudge and paw to put the focus back on what's really important- them. I may be biased, but they deserve every ounce of attention and affection you can give.
Pomeranian

While small, they have huge personalities that demand your attention all day long. Don't think about ignoring them because they will protest by barking, pawing, or wiggling their way to be front and center.
Golden Retriever

Loyal, affectionate, and always by your side. That is what a golden is and what they seek in return from their humans. They have the biggest hearts and just want constant pats and scratches and are not shy about asking for them. They will nudge or lean against you to let you know they desire attention, and if that doesn't work, their paws will reach out to make it clear that they want your focus now.
Chihuahua

Green eyes are rare in dogs, but the "green-eyed monster" of dog breeds would go to Chihuahuas. They are not monsters, but their jealously can bring out their feisty side.
Chihuahuas are fiercely loyal and form strong bonds with their person, who they expect to be devoted only to them. These tiny dogs are the definition of jealous and will not hesitate to bark or snap if someone or something tries to get in between them and their human.
French Bulldog

French Bulldogs like to have the spotlight and will not give it up to anyone or anything. If your attention wanders, they will bring it back by nudging, vocal exclamations, or crawling into your lap.
Labrador Retriever

Labs are great at reading human emotions and just want to be by your side. They are also great at getting your attention when it drifts to others by whining, pawing, and soft nudges.
These devoted dogs just want the same amount of attention and affection that they give out.
Dachshund

Dachshunds are loyal and protective which leads to jealousy when they are not getting proper attention from their humans. They may start by sulking but will quickly resort to barking or acting up to get what they want.
Some call it jealousy, but these dogs just want to always be with their humans and have their undivided attention. What a small price to pay for unconditional love.
This is not an all-inclusive list, as many dog breeds are possessive and love attention. Share in the comments how your dog shows his or her jealousy.
