Florida Police Department Spoils Retiring K9 With Sweet Treat

There is only one proper send off for a retiring K9 officer and it involves a bowl and a lot of whipped cream.

Fort Walton Beach Police Department announced the retirement of their K9 Bane and went on to thank him for his years of service in a post on Facebook. The department also rewarded the devoted K9 with a large bowl of whipped cream at the end of his last shift and wished him a long and happy life in retirement.

They wrote, "After giving his all for the past 5 years, one of our goodest boys, K9 Bane, is medically retiring. We are happy to announce he will continue to enjoy life with his handler, Officer Trujillo, and his family. Thank you for keeping our city and our officers safe during your dedicated years of service. Enjoy your retirement Bane, you deserve it buddy!"

The sweet video has gone viral, and many people took the time to thank K9 Bane for his service in the comments. One person said, "Thank you for your service K9 Officer Bane. I love how he gets to stay with his handler, and I hope whatever medical problem you may have I hope you over come it... Enjoy your retirement."

Another added, "Thank you for your service K9 Bane. So glad you are able to stay with your handler Officer Trujillo. Enjoy your remaining years chasing leaves and balls."
