Most Popular Dog Names Of 2023 Revealed
Picking a name for your newly adopted dog can be a difficult task, as there are so many options, and you want the right one to fit their unique personality.
Thankfully, Rover, the world's largest online marketplace for pet care, just released the top dog and cat names of 2023 for inspiration. Rover shared, "results are based on analysis of millions of user-submitted pet names provided by pet parents on Rover.com."
Some names remain popular year after year, but there are always new ones added. This year the decade-long number one name for male dogs, Max, has been knocked down to number two.
Just like in previous years, some dog names are reflections on what or who is trending at the time.
"The names we give to our pets reflect what's happening in the world around us—from trending TV shows, important public figures and even social media trends—and eleven years into the campaign, this trend is still going strong," said Kate Jaffe, trend expert at Rover, in a press release. "A lot happened in 2023 and the names we lovingly chose for our pets reflect the most memorable moments. From strong female leads, to blockbuster hits, our favorite comfort foods and nostalgic pop culture icons, this year’s list suggests we’re all after a little extra comfort right now."
