Old, Flea-Ridden Dog Rescued from War-Torn Village Finally Finds Loving Home
Andrea Powell
The war in Ukraine has destroyed homes and entire villages, claimed countless lives, and left even more animals abandoned on the streets. As the bombings continue, Krystina and Lala, are rescuing animals in active war zones and giving them the care they need, like Sherry.
Amid the rubble of a bombed home emerged a matted, malnourished senior dog riddled with fleas. Her white fur was stained brown with dirt, and she was struggling to walk. She approached Krystina with a wagging tail rejoicing that help had finally arrived.

Sherry was taken to a clinic where she was treated for fleas, groomed multiple times, and given necessary vaccinations. She spent the next few months at Under the Sun Shelter where Krystina made sure she gained weight with donated dog food and helped her walk again without pain.

Krystina's goal is to find every rescued dog a loving home, even the senior ones like Sherry. A family in Italy fell in love with Sherry and decided to adopt her. Krystina helped transport the sweet pup to her new home.

Her lonely days are a thing of the past. She is now surrounded by her loving family and canine siblings in a safe environment. She gets to stretch her legs in her backyard and has a soft bed to sleep on at night. This is the life she has always dreamed of.

Thank you for your continued support that helps feed and care for rescued animals like Sherry. Krystina still has over 250 dogs at her shelter waiting for a family of their own. Donate now to help care for them.
