As War Rages, Rescuers Rush to Save Injured Cat and Dog in Ukraine
Andrea Powell
Our heroes, Lala, Krystina, and their teams, continue to rescue animals caught in the crossfire of the war. Innocent animals are being injured during the relentless attacks by Russia and need emergency aid to survive.
When the calls for help come in, our heroes drop everything to save lives.
Marusia
Lala shared that soldiers found a badly injured cat after an attack near the frontlines. Her hind leg was beyond repair, and the only option was to amputate.

Lala took in the poor feline and made sure she received the surgery and necessary care to heal. She shared, "Our vet, Anya, in Kharkiv did everything—and even the impossible—for this little cat. She is alive and healthy; she is simply missing one leg. She is a gentle, affectionate, sociable, and well-mannered sweetheart."

Your donations helped cover her medical care and provide nutritious food as she recovered. Lala shared some great news that she found a loving family and is now called " Marusia".
Krym
Another call for help came from an auto repair shop in Kramatorsk after a heavy bombing. They reported a dog lying in the street injured and bleeding. He was hit by shrapnel and needed immediate medical care.
Lala recalls what a tough and challenging rescue it was. Her team was able to rescue the dog they are calling Krym but that was just the beginning. They needed to find a local vet in the active war zone to operate on him and then find a place for the wild, wounded dog to recover before transport.
It was a long and hard road, but with the help of many people and your donations, Krym survived.
He was transported to a save foster home where he continued to heal. Months later, he found a loving home of his own.

Thank you so much for standing with Ukraine and helping these innocent animals. Sadly, calls continue to come in about animals in need of rescue. Donate today to help feed and care for evacuated animals until they find loving homes.
