On September 14, city workers in Knoxville, Tennessee, found a trash bag on the side of the road and were heartbroken by what they found inside.

Inside the bag at the intersection of Hall of Fame Drive and East Glenwood Avenue was a tan dog near death with severe injuries to his head and puncture wounds on his body. He was humanely euthanized to end his suffering.

Humane World for Animals, formerly Humane Society of the United States, offered a $5,000 reward but it was matched by a generous donor, so up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of the cruel person or persons responsible. They want justice for this innocent pup. 

“The suffering this young dog endured is heartbreaking and deeply disturbing. No animal should ever experience this level of pain, neglect and cruelty,” said Jessica Hyder, Tennessee state director, Humane World for Animals in a press release. “We’re incredibly thankful Young Williams Animal Center is investigating this crime and hope the reward helps find the person or persons who committed this appalling act.”

People are outraged by the cruelty and hope that the horrible person responsible is found and charged. This young dog deserved a long and happy life, not the unimaginable cruelty he endured.
