A fluffy, blind, ginger cat is being hailed a hero and finally getting the recognition he deserves after helping to save a kitten near death.

Bradford Cat Watch Rescue & Sanctuary took in a dying kitten who was dehydrated and suffering from life-threatening anemia. Their last hope was a risky blood transfusion from a beloved blind rescue cat named Carrots.

The kitten named 'Dandelion' received 10ml of blood and slowly started to improve. Three weeks later he is still doing well as his PCV level continues to climb into a normal range for healthy cats.

Dandelion has received an outpouring of support from followers and even received flowers. Carrots, in true cat form, decided to voice his thoughts on the matter.

"King Carrots here. I have a public announcement about All this Mamby Pamby Dandy shizzle!! Yes it's great that his PCV is now 30, and yep the vet did an ok job .... I suppose... buuuutttt..... non of this would have been possible without me donating out of the kindness of my "all seeing heart", 10 ml of my precious blood.... so where's my card and fluffin flowers! Eh??"

The hero has now in addition to the praise from staff and followers received a medal and large bag of tasty treats.

Thank you to Carrots who saved Dandelion's life, and his medical team and dedicated staff at the shelter for his ongoing care.
