Hopelessly Devoted to Saving Them: Help Fly Over 50 Shelter Pets to Freedom
Andrea Powell
The dire situation at animal shelters in the South has not improved as more animals continue to arrive at already overflowing shelters. They are out of space and resources and need help to save lives.
That is where Flight to Freedom swoops in to help, with your continued support. It is officially summer and the hot weather has arrived adding another concern for overwhelmed shelters.
On June 29, our Summer Lovin' Flight to Freedom will head to Louisiana to transport over 50 shelter pets to New Jersey for a second chance.

Tell me more, tell me more...
The flight is the last resort for some animals who are at risk of euthanasia due to lack of adopters and resources. These highly adoptable pets will finally get the chance they deserve to find someone to be "hopelessly devoted to".
Meet just a few of the pet passengers on this flight.
Stanley

This laidback five-year-old Rottweiler mix is recovering from heartworm disease and ready for his second chance. His current shelter shared, "This gentle gentleman moves through life with a calm, unhurried grace that is equal parts hilarious and deeply endearing. He knows his basic commands, he carries himself with quiet dignity, and at the end of the day he would like nothing more than to find the most comfortable spot in the house and settle in like the distinguished gentleman he is."
Spaghetti

Her unique name and adorable face will make you smile every time you say her name and she comes running. Spaghetti is a four-year-old shepherd mix that is also recovering from heartworm disease. She will finish her treatment in New Jersey before finding a forever home.
This sweet dog greets each person she meets with a warm, friendly hello that immediately puts everyone at ease and gets along well with other dogs. She is ready to find a family of her own.
Simba

This young Labrador mix loves everyone he meets, including other dogs. His good looks and good manners continue to steal hearts wherever he goes. His caretakers said, "With that classic Labrador heart — loyal, loving, and endlessly enthusiastic about life — Simba is the kind of dog that fits beautifully into almost any home."
He just can't wait to be treated like the "king" he is.
Alexis

The three-year-old tabby is as sweet as she is beautiful. Her enamored caretakers told us, "Here is how life with Alexis works — she finds you, she rubs against you, she weaves around your legs, she presses her beautiful face against yours — and she will absolutely keep going until you stop whatever you are doing and give her the affection she deserves. Honestly? She is not wrong. Everything else can wait. Once you start petting her she melts completely. Calm, quiet, and utterly content, Alexis has a gentle, peaceful presence that makes a home feel instantly warmer and softer just by her being in it."
She is ready to find her person.
