Ukraine Animal Clinic Hit by Two Missiles as Rescuers Rush to Save Animals
Andrea Powell
Staff at 12 Guardians, an animal rescue organization and clinic, located near the frontlines in Kramatorst, Ukraine, have endured so much pain and loss during the years since Russia invaded. But, through it all, they have continued to work tirelessly to save animals' lives.
They put themselves in harms' way, heading into some of the hardest hit areas in Ukraine to rescue animals and bring them to safety.
12 Guardians' staff spent the past week rescuing countless dogs and cats from the frontlines and brought several back to their clinic, which they thought was a safe space.
However, the clinic was maliciously hit by two missiles collapsing the roof and trapping some of the animals in their crates under the rubble.
Rescuers rushed to save all the animals, and by some miracle all the animals are unharmed.

While none sustained physically injures, several animals are further traumatized by this attack.

12 Guardians shared a video of what they found when they arrived. Among the rubble were terrified dogs looking up at them for help. Check out the video below.
They wrote, "Everything that we have accumulated over the years has been damaged - cages, boxes, medicine, drugs, vaccines... everything."
All of the animals have been evacuated to other shelters in safe locations. The team is beyond grateful to those who stepped up to help.

Even though they sustained massive damage and loss at the clinic, they are heading back out into dangerous areas to save more lives. These people are the definition of heroes.

12 Guardians is one of the many rescue organizations that GreaterGood and the Animal Rescue Site has helped support since the war began and it breaks our heart to see our friends suffer such a terrible loss.
Your donations have helped feed rescued animals at 12 Guardians and other shelters across Ukraine over the past three years of the war. The situation is only getting worse as the attacks continue.
