From Fear to Forever: This War Survivor Finds a Home in Ireland
Andrea Powell
Countless dogs and cats are still roaming the war-torn streets of Ukraine in search of food and shelter. They are hungry, afraid, and in danger as bombs continue to fall from the sky.
That is why Lala, owner of 12 Guards, returns to the hardest hit areas to save animals left behind. During one rescue mission she spotted a skinny, green dog who had clearly been mistreated.

The once tan dog was green and in need of food, care, and time to heal. Lala and her team rescued her and brought her back to the clinic where she received the care she needed as well as a warm bath to remove the dye from her fur.

Lala made sure she not only received the best medical care but also found her the perfect forever home.

After recovering from the stress of life on the war-torn streets and gaining some weight, the dog named Romashka found a forever home in Ireland. She left her painful past behind her and is loving her new life.

She and her two human and canine siblings enjoy long walks along the coast and through the forest. After a day of outdoor activities, she loves to snuggle up to her humans. Romashka finally found peace and a family of her own.
She is one of the lucky ones who was rescued and given a second chance. Your donations help feed and care for evacuated animals until they find forever homes. There are many more waiting for their happy endings. Donate today to save more lives.
