Dog Found Near Death On The Side Of The Road Gets Adopted By The Vet Who Saved His Life
Love conquers all...
An Uber driver in Kentucky found a dog on the side of the road who was unable to stand and in desperate need of help. The good Samaritan rushed the dog to Kentucky Humane Society where he was named Travolta.
The poor dog, estimated to be just a year old, was severely malnourished, covered in infected pressure sores, and had maggots crawling all over his body. He was so weak that he could barely lift his head and it was clear he had been suffering for weeks.

"He is severely emaciated with a body scale score of 1 out of 9, the lowest body scale possible for an animal, which puts him in danger of death by starvation. He weighs a mere 14 pounds and should weigh at least 30 pounds," posted the shelter.
The team was unsure if he would make it through the night, but under the amazing care of Dr. Emily Bewley and the medical staff he not only survived but found his forever home.

He received round-the-clock care, medicated baths, many small meals and slowly started to recover. He was then taken in as a foster by Dr. Bewley. Over the past few weeks, he has gained weight, regrown hair, and wiggled his way into his vet's heart.

Their special bond led to Dr. Bewley becoming a "foster fail". The shelter announced the exciting news and said the official adoption would take place on Valentine's Day.

The heartwarming moment was shared live on Facebook so all the supporters and fans who had followed Travolta's story could witness his happy ending.
Travolta and his mom sported matching outfits and it was clear to see how much they love each other. "He's my Valentine," stated Dr. Bewley as she hugged her furry pal.
The scruffy dog did a victory lap around the reception desk after the adoption papers were signed. He will never want for anything again.
The entire Bewley family already adores him and are thrilled to officially add him to the family. He joins a household full of other males which included three human siblings, two other dogs, two cats, and a rabbit.
Happy tails, Travolta. You deserve it!
