Maine Woman Hopes To Celebrate Her 100th Birthday With 100 Dogs

Dogs are man's (and woman's) best friend. They bring so much joy, and countless studies have proved that they improve our mental and physical health.

Just being around one dog is an instant mood booster, but just think about how it would feel to be surrounded by dozens of friendly, happy pups.

Avis Tolman from Rockville, Maine, has always loved dogs and hopes to spend a milestone birthday with her favorite animal. She is turning 100 on March 20th and her birthday wish is to have at least 100 dogs attend her party.

Well-mannered dogs of all ages and sizes are welcome to the celebration that will take place at Bartlett Woods Retirement Community, where Tolman lives.

"Yeah, I love dogs," Tolman told local news WGME. "They have some kind of spiritual connection with humans."

All dogs must be leashed, in good health, and good around other dogs and people. Anyone interested in bringing their dog to Tolman's party and helping make her wish come true can contact the organizer, Mary Eads.

The invitation to all dogs was posted on Downeast (Main) Dog News' Facebook page to share the event with dog owners in the area. One fan replied, "Best party plan ever!"

We agree! This party is going to be doggone fun and we hope they post pictures for all of us dog lovers to see. Happy Birthday, Avis Tolman!
