Our partner, Greater Good Charities (GGC), shared a heartwarming story about a woman they encountered while the team was at a store in South Carolina purchasing pet food and supplies for Helene survivors.

As truckloads of food and supplies headed into western North Carolina (thanks to your donations), the team en route to Asheville stopped off at a store in South Carolina to purchase much-needed pet food.

They were wearing bright yellow shirts with the Greater Good Charities logo as they loaded carts full of hundreds of pounds of pet food.

A local woman named Mary approached them to ask more about what they were doing. When she found out that they were heading to some of the hardest hit areas she offered to help pay for some of the food.

But that’s not all.

GGC shared, “Mary learned our team could not find gas cans anywhere so she also called the store where she works to reserve some so our disaster response team could quickly pick them up and get on their way to Asheville. What a hero!”

Thanks to Mary and YOU, the team on the ground can provide more supplies to those in need. People and pets across the Southeast have lost their homes and need our help.
