Yellowstone Bison Does What We All Have Done On Ice In Viral Video And Quickly Recovers
Bison are surprisingly light on their feet and if you need proof, check out a video shared by Creekside at Yellowstone on Facebook.
The video shows a herd of bison crossing a frozen river in Yellowstone's Lamar Valley. The ice must be thick due to the fact that it can hold several bison who each weigh 1,000 to 2,000 pounds. The last bison speeds up to either catch up or because it is unsure of the ice and slips.
The large animal falls on its rump but quickly regains its footing and makes it to solid ground. Then it does what we all have done and looks around to see if anyone saw the fall.

Another added, "There’s always someone watching when you slip on ice."

Yellowstone is proud to be the only place in the United States where bison have lived since prehistoric times. There are nearly 6,000 bison in Yellowstone, making it the largest population on public land. You are sure to see some of them when you visit the park and may even come to a stop to allow a herd to cross the road.
